The moment you realize that you want to start a family with your partner also needs to be the moment you realize that you also need to start taking care of yourself better in order to make sure that your body is healthy and ready for the change that it is about to go through. There might be a few rules you need to follow when you are pregnant, but did you know that various kinds of food can help you increase your fertility too.

Leafy Green Vegetables


Leafy green vegetables are exceptionally high in folate, which is a type of Vitamin B that has been shown to increase fertility substantially and also helps improve ovulation. But this also works for men. Try to include foods like Spinach, kale, arugula and even broccoli in your diet to make sure that you get your dose of folate.

Beans


It has been proven, thanks to research that have been conducted, women who consume plant proteins like beans and legumes, are less likely to develop issues when they are trying to conceive. But if you are someone who is not particularly fond of beans, then you could always indulge in tofu, lentils or even nuts, so that you are able to absorb some much-needed plant based protein.

Olive Oil


Olive oil is incredible when it comes to decreasing inflammation throughout the body and it also helps in increasing insulin resistance. Inflammation is an issue that can interfere with a lot of the stages that can help one conceive better. From ovulation, conception to the early development of the embryo, inflammation can cause problems for all these stages. Try including olive oil in simple daily foods like salads, vinegar and even cooking.

Folic Acid


Folic Acid might just be your best friend when it comes to helping you conceive. Folic acid has been proven to be very beneficial when it comes to helping with pregnancy. Include foods in your diet with high folic acid content like whole grains, citrus fruits and vegetables. Taking folic acid supplements before and during pregnancy can effectively help minimize birth defects as well. The right kind of diet before trying to conceive can really make sure that you are able to conceive better so make sure that you include the foods in your diet that help you do just that!
