There are many food allergies that might exist among adults, but did you know that even your little one can be subject to the development of food allergies? You see, essentially, a food allergy is mainly your immune system’s reaction to a usually harmless element present in your food. Usually when a child allergic to a certain food, consumes it, then the body tends to release antibodies that make the immune system react. There are many symptoms that might appear if your baby has an allergic reaction:
- Red patches on the skin
- Swelling
- Abdominal pain
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
These symptoms are usually mild ones. However severe reactions can include:
- Wheezing
- Swelling of Face
- Trouble in breathing
Some Foods that can cause an allergic reaction
- Eggs
- Peanuts
- Cow’s milk
- Fish
- Soy
- Shellfish
- Nuts
Even though treatments are available for food allergies, it is always the best option to avoid the foods your baby might be allergic to. The moment you suspect your baby is having an allergic reaction, do not hesitate to rush him/her to the doctor.
