Tips to keep in mind for a stress free pregnancy
Do you want a checklist that you can go back to during your pregnancy to make sure whether whatever you are doing is right or wrong? Well to help you in that very aspect we have here a whole list that will help and guide you throughout your pregnancy and make sure you and your little one are as safe and healthy as can be.

Dos:

  • This goes without saying but you have to keep a track of your health throughout this voyage of yours. Following a healthy lifestyle during your pregnancy is very important since now you aren’t just living for yourself but you are living for two people.
  • The moment you become aware that you are pregnant, make sure you have the best gynae on your speed dial. This has to be someone you can rely on throughout this journey of yours. Your doctor is the one who will be taking care of you and advising you before, during and after your pregnancy too.
  • Be aware. There will be a lot of things that you will feel during your pregnancy, but you need to know how to separate the normal symptoms from the more problematic ones. Some of the symptoms that might surface due to different problem are:
    • Any severe pain in your stomach needs to be looked at by your doctor to make sure that it is nothing serious.
    • Having a fever above 100 during your pregnancy without signs of having a cold could be serious. Remember to call your doctor as soon as possible and let them know how you have been feeling so that they are able to diagnose what exactly is wrong.
    • Vision issues: Vision issues usually make an appearance in the second half of your pregnancy. Things like blurring, spotty vision with flashes, double vision etc should immediately be brought to your doctor’s notice.
    • Light or heavy vaginal bleeding might be a sign of some underlying problem. Very light bleeding or spotting is quite common in the first half of your pregnancy. However heavy bleeding with back pain or light bleeding with severe abdominal pain can all be signs of a deeper routed issue. Do remember to call your doctor immediately if you experience any of the above mentioned issues.
    • In the second half of your pregnancy if you experience severe headaches accompanied with swelling and vision issues then you need to contact your doctor immediately.
    • Burning sensation while urinating could be a sign of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). It could be the same issue if you are passing blood in your urine too. Remember to take a trip down to your doctor in any of these cases.
    • Since morning sickness is the most common symptom during pregnancy, you might think that vomiting frequently is normal. But constantly feeling the need to vomit could be a sign of something more serious.
    • In case you take a fall or face a hit or blow to your stomach then visit your doctor the same day for guidance. If in case after the fall or the blow you experience any bleeding or are leaking fluid then you need to immediately call your doctor since this might be a sign of a complication.
  • Drinking atleast 12 glasses of water a day helps keep your body hydrated and helps the body produce healthy blood cells as well.
  • Exercising is also an important activity that needs to be included in your daily calendar during your pregnancy. Do not be afraid to exercise, since the right exercises help give a huge energy boost to you apart from helping your mood and sleep pattern too.
  • If you are feeling extremely tired then you need to treat yourself to a nap for a change. Even a 15 minute siesta will do your body a whole lot of good!
  • We know you need all the relaxation that you can get during this time of yours so why not give things like yoga and mediation to distress a try? If you cannot find time to do yoga then even listening to some soothing music would help a great deal.
Just keeping these few things in mind during your pregnancy will help you a great deal in keeping yourself and your little one safe, healthy and happy. Just remember to always keep track of your health and talk to your husband or your doctor anytime you feel unwell or are just in a bad mood and just make the best of each moment!
