Diet for mother post delivery

Say hello to Motherhood!

You’ve grown a new little bundle of joy inside your body. Those 9 months were full of fun moments and crazy hormonal rides. It becomes difficult to wait for 9 months but that wait is totally worth it.

My heart skipped a beat and my eyes didn’t want to blink when I took my new-born into my arms for the first time. At that point, I was not aware that this moment is followed by lots of responsibilities, sleepless nights and poor diet.

A healthy diet can give new moms energy if they spread food throughout the day. Proper diet routine can give you the lasting power to take care of your new born.

Required Nutrients for New Moms

When you eat nutrients-rich food, you’ll see the boost in your energy level. You’ll feel fuller longer, mentally relaxed and can take care of your baby even at night. Include below-mentioned food and see the difference

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Lean protein, like fish, and soy foods
  • Whole grains
  • Leafy greens
  • Milk and milk products
  • Iron-rich food like prune juice, fortified cereals, and lean meats
  • Vitamin C rich food like oranges, tomatoes, and natural fruit juices
  • Protein sources like chickpeas and lentils

Healthy Snacks or Unhealthy Munching – Choose right

We all love snacks and this love for snacks sometimes ends up in unhealthy eating. So be careful while choosing snacks. Snack packs contain lots of artificial sweeteners and preservatives. If you crave for eating such snacks, then eat in moderation or pick your healthy dose from one of the following:

  • Whole-grain crackers
  • Nuts
  • Low-fat milk
  • Carrots or cucumber
  • Hardboiled eggs
  • Low-fat cheese with a piece of fruit
  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Peanut butter on an apple

We all know how amazing it is for the mothers to see their babies grow, however, it can be difficult and tiring at the same time. From carrying the baby for a good 9 months and then giving your entire time for the baby takes a lot.

New moms often feel that I have already delivered my baby, so now I can eat whatever I like, right?
